New Partnerships

As some of you may know, as of last January, I have been on a self-funded sabbatical of sorts. After leaving my last job, I made a very intentional decision to take several months off with no specific plans for subsequent employment. I felt I had earned some time to recover and work on some personal projects that I had neglected for years. To briefly summarize the experience: it has been amazing. I’ve been able to maintain a schedule that I fully control and adjust according to my priorities and whims. I just can’t recommend it strongly enough to anyone who can afford it.

And when I write “afford,” I literally mean that; it takes cold hard cash to finance this ongoing adventure. With no paycheck or revenue to speak of, it has been a negative drain on our savings. After all, the bills continue to roll in.

This reality means that I have to consider alternative ways to support my family. As much as I enjoy writing this blog and find it personally fulfilling, it is also an opportunity to generate revenue and provide the lifestyle to which we’re accustomed. To that end, I’m pleased to announce a strategic partnership with BioMedical Capital Partners, a private equity firm that specializes in early stage development of healthcare media-related ventures. In collaboration with their forward-thinking leadership and a significant investment, we’ve crafted a plan that will hopefully leverage this platform into an industry-leading, multimedia organization. I think you’ll all be very pleased with the ultimate product. Most importantly, this BMCP partnership will allow me to remain “on sabbatical” for the foreseeable future.

I especially look forward to working closely with their in-house specialists who have significant expertise in streaming, social media, marketing, medical imaging, and physician practice management. They’ve already suggested some fascinating topics to explore like reimaging productivity metrics in academia, increasing efficiency and work RVUs, and why tumor boards are overrated. I’m really excited to have such creative professionals working on my blog.

Speaking of generating revenue, I’m offering my blog readers a time-limited special discounted subscriber rate on my OnlyFans site. To join my thousands of followers, just enter the code 2023AFD on the subscription page here.
